As the title suggests, Maria & Nikos blog posting will take more than one entry. So Part I begins at Maria’s parent’s restaurant in Swarthmore. Our initial meeting took place at a table at her parents restaurant, just prior to the lunchtime seating. I would say there were at least 6 family members present at the meeting, not to mention the friends/customers and co-workers who would come by to look at my sample albums. Maria’s family is so friendly and inviting that it is hard to distinguish family members from friends or customers since they treat all equally as nice and inviting. So I knew from this first meeting that this would be one wild ride to the wedding day. So the family, and restaurant guests approved of me, and I was thrilled to now be part of this Big Event!
I love doing an engagement sessions with my couples. It is a great way for the couple and I to interact prior to the wedding day. In this case, it was a great way to meet Nikos (the groom). He is truly a great guy. We hit it off immediately, so I can see how Maria fell for him. He seemed like the perfect fit for Maria, and her family.
I stopped by the restaurant the day before the wedding to get this shot.
And just for the record, I already loved Nikos prior to seeing the wedding gift that was parked outside the bride’s house as a surprise.
The day of the wedding I finally got to meet the groom’s side of the family. They were all welcoming and loving. Especially the groom’s mother, she was simply stunning. I have never seen a mother more proud of her happy for her son.
In the greek tradition, the bride and groom enter the church together.
This gorgeous veil was made by Maria’s mother.
More to come!
