I have known Glen since we both worked as uschers at the AMC Movie Theater in High School.
From “Indian Jones and the Last Crusade” to “When Harry Met Sally” that pretty much somes up Glen’s dating journey. He finally got it right with his fiancée Michele.
Michele is a sweetheart and what my mother would call “a keeper”. I am honored they asked me to capture their big day this fall.
“Last Night a Photographer Saved My Life…”
Kimberly & Jonathan could not have asked for a more beautiful day for their wedding at the Drumore Estate in Pequea, PA. The ceremony was held in the garden on the grounds under a blue sky. The cocktail hour was held on various patios and on a lawn surrounding the estate, with a live duo playing Irish tunes. The guests then make their way into the dining area. That is when someone turned to me and asked “Where is the DJ”?. Jonathan said they left numerous messages but had not received any response. Long story short, I pull out my powerbook and start making playlists. I turn to the Irish Band and they contribute their gear and next thing you know, I am now the impromtu DJ on the “wheels of steel”. I must say it was quite fun. I had a 70’s & 80’s section, and then a little “Swing”. But the most important song I happen to have on my computer was their first dance song. Talk about divine intervention! Based on the number of people I had dancing, I think my first gig as a DJ was a hit. I even started taking requests!
So there are two morals to this story. One, meet the actual people/vendors that will be on site the day of your wedding before you hire anyone. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for references from previous brides. All of my clients are family to me, and I love when there are interactions between my previous brides and stories shared. The second moral to the story is: hire me for your wedding and you will have no worries.
“Remember JC DOBBS on South”
All native Philadelphia folk have a shared history. You can tell a lot from a fellow based on the bars they visited or remember in the city that are not there anymore. One such gem we hit upon was J.C. Dobbs. This was one of the few places left in Philadelphia to hear live music from up and coming bands (Nirvana, Pearl Jam & Green Day graced this stage to name a few). Dobbs closed in 1996, and was replaced by The Pontiac Grille, but it was never the same.
Fast forward to 2008, Kathryn & Dan will soon have there wedding & J.C. Dobbs returns to South St. It is a hell of a year for love and the music scene in Philadelphia!
Say Brie!
We had a great Spring Day for our E-Session shoot. I first met Scott & Courtney (and Courtney’s Mom) last year when they booked me. Courtney & Scott are a great couple and I can not wait to shoot their upcoming wedding at The Racquet Club this summer in Philadelphia!
Land Down Under
After our “Jim’s Steaks” engagement session, I knew Carolyn & Joey’s wedding would be fun, unique and full of love. They did not disappoint.
The reception tool place in a converted 1920’s art deco style Bank. The space had also been featured on TLC’s A Wedding Story at one point. The night came to a close with a little surprise from Joey. He had written a song for his new bride and sang it to her on the balcony above.
They are now on their honeymoon down under in Australia.
What Not To Wear
I usually keep this blog about my brides, but I had to share this moment from a few weeks ago. My wife had a milestone birthday coming up and I wanted to do something special for her. The goal was to keep it personal and about her. At first I thought of a spa weekend or day of beauty and then it hit me. My wife is a “closeted” What Not To Wear fan and her favorite portion of the show is Nick Arrojo the hair stylist. So I made a surprise appointment for her at his studio in Manhattan/Greenwich Village. I was able to get an appointment on her actual birthday, so I figured it was meant to be. I was able to keep everything a surprise every moment along the way. She did not even know we were going to NYC until coming up on signs for the Holland Tunnel. Then we pulled up to to the SoHo Grand and began her birthday weekend. What a great hotel! Champagne served at check-in was the perfect start to our adventure. We then made our way to Balthazar for lunch. Quick lunchtime seating at the bar, with excellent service. We also hit a unique spot for dinner in SoHo, The Antique Garage Restaurant.
It was a brief but unforgettable weekend.

I love my job. It is not only about capturing the love of the couple on their wedding today, but that of their guests as well.
A great DJ and the “crazy uncle” dancing is a must for all weddings.
Art In the City
I was honored to capture and witness the romance of this terrific couple. Their wedding toke place at The Academy of Fine Arts, where my grandfather had studied as a young man. So you can imagine it was especially powerful for me to be working in this space.
We started the day off meeting the bride at The Ritz-Carlton, which also had a special meaning for me. This is where my wife and I celebrated our engagement when I asked her to marry me.

Dan is a wild man. I am sure he is my long lost brother and we were separated at birth. Kathy is a lucky girl and at the same time has my prayers! 
I can not wait for this wedding in June next year. Good times to come!
The Gables in LBI
Doug and Dori couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot for their intimate wedding celebration. When I first arrived at the Victorian B&B I was greeted by Sondra. Throughout the day it was clear that Sondra and her staff truly enjoy what they do.
The ceremony took place in the late afternoon in the garden courtyard. Here the bride and groom made their vows in front of their friends and family that traveled from around the globe to be pay witness.
Dori had always dreamed of incorporating a beach theme into her wedding. Being only two blocks from the water, Doug decided to take a stoll on the sand with his new bride before they joined the reception.
I followed along to capture their first walk on the beach as husband and wife.
The reception also took place in the courtyard, which was now beautifully lit by candlelight from the tables.
If I was not married already I might have proposed to the Chef who served a five star menu. Aside from wedding cake for dessert, the meal ended with a surperb trio. It was so good I had to take a picture of it. Trust me, it did not last long once the below shot was taken.
