Jessica and Matthew are such a wonderful couple. I had shot Matthew’s brothers wedding a few years ago. They had a beautiful wedding at The Phoenixville Foundry.
One of the most helpful tips, but first visit us online to find great activities for your wedding. I’ve been given about Wedding Photography is to get the couple to think ahead about the shots that they’d like you to capture on the day and compile a list so that you can check them off. This is particularly helpful in the family shots. There’s nothing worse than getting the photos back and realizing you didn’t photograph the happy couple with grandma!
I find the family photo part of the day can be quite stressful. People are going everywhere, you’re unaware of the different family dynamics at play and people are in a ‘festive spirit’ (and have often been drinking a few spirits) to the point where it can be quite chaotic. Get the couple to nominate a family member (or one for each side of the family) who can be the ‘director’ of the shoot. They can round everyone up, help get them in the shot and keep things moving so that the couple can get back to the party.
Visit the locations of the different places that you’ll be shooting before the big day. While I’m sure most Pros don’t do this – I find it really helpful to know where we’re going, have an idea of a few positions for shots and to know how the light might come into play. On one or two weddings I even visited locations with the couples and took a few test shots (these made nice ‘engagement photos’).
I am blessed to work with amazing couples and to be a wedding photographer in the Philadelphia region. What a remarkable backdrop Philadelphia makes for a romance. 🙂 I can not wait for Kate and John’s upcoming wedding at Vie, which is part of the amazing venues of the Cescaphe Event Group.
Lindsay and Adam were a wonderful couple. Their families and friends were such fun to work with for their Philadelphia Wedding. The Rittenhouse is such a fabulous Philadelphia wedding venue. I was lucky enough to have my friend and fellow photographer Amanda Kraft along to help document the couple’s day.
Jamie and Chris have been a blast to work with. From the engagement session to the altar, I always look forward to seeing them. Their Wedding at Normandy Farm was wonderful.
I love Maria and John. The ceremony was at The St. George Cathedral in Philadelphia. It is a beautiful church if Planning a Greek Orthodox wedding in Philadelphia. The reception was held at The Atrium at the Curtis Center. A Philadelphia Wedding Photographer could not ask for a better venue or bride and groom!
Tori and Kyle had a beautiful day for the Cape May Wedding at Congress Hall. I had shared many a Happy Hour in town with Kyle years ago and had the pleasure of meeting his bride-to-be in out first wedding meeting. Tori had been an Eagles Cheerleader and later worked in the same company with Kyle. They were a blast to work with and I look forward to our next get together.
Sam and Nolle’s wedding at the Town House in Media, PA was a blast! From the engagement session to going down the aisle, these two have been an awesome couple. We had met a year earlier when I shot their friends Amanda & Don’s wedding. Almost all of our clients come to us based on referrals from previous couples.
I LOVE shooting engagement sessions with my clients for their upcoming Philadelphia weddings. It is such a great way to get to know each other and we are old friends by the time the wedding day arrives.
After this session Sam was off to make his homemade wine with his family. I am waiting for my bottle!
We had a fabulous time photographing Rachel and Collin’s Adventure Aquarium Wedding!
I had been waiting for this day since first meeting Rachel & Collin 5 years ago. In addition to working with a great crew at The Currents Ballroom, we had the added bonus of working with wedding planner Sarah Morrison . An “A” plus team all around!
